Kenya Medical Mission

September 09, 2023 to September 23, 2023
Kenya
**THIS TRIP IS FULL** This trip focuses on mobile medical clinics as a way to support the work of the Pokot pastors of northwest Kenya and paves the way for the local evangelists to reach new people who may have never heard the Good News of the Gospel. Our travels begin with a flight to Nairobi and continue with a 1-2 day drive into the bush to our base camp, where we will stay in dormitory style living arrangements. From there, we will be traveling 1-2 hours "off-road" in 4-wheel drive vehicles to reach the meeting spot for the daily clinics. For many of the Pokot, this will be the first medical care they have ever received and so news of our arrival spreads quickly, and it is not uncommon to have a "waiting room" of several hundred people. The team needs both medical and non-medical members and the workload is equally shared by all. This is an amazing opportunity to see the love of Christ acted out daily. Local church leaders will build on our efforts to alleviate suffering and use this as a bridge to show God's care and love for the Pokot. Come be part of this incredible partnership!

November 05, 2023 to November 10, 2023
Del Rio, Texas
This team will travel to Del Rio, Texas to come alongside the work of local churches and organizations who are loving their migrant and refugee neighbors. In addition to serving activities, this trip is also designed to foster a deeper awareness and understanding of the immigration crisis that is happening at our southern border. We believe that proximity builds empathy, and our hope is to learn and grow as we connect with diverse lived experiences and have compassionate and curious conversations with people outside of our echo chambers. Our goal is to create an immersive experience that will enable us to have proximity with several organizations, including the local Border Patrol and the Val Verde Humanitarian Border Coalition, that are collaborating to honor the dignity of migrant families and to see, know and love their neighbors. The cost of the trip is $1300 with a $300 deposit due at application. All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. The pre-trip planning process consists of 3 team meetings prior to the team leaving and 2 team meetings after the team returns home.
