INSIGHTS

Insights is an in-depth Bible study taught by our own Kensington women. Each week at Insights, the teacher shares their love of Jesus, reveals Biblical truths, and connects how it applies to our lives. Insights meets weekly for two hours, beginning with a large group teaching then breaking into small groups for discussion. Insights will be studying the book of Joshua.

Suggested donation of $15 for materials. Childcare is available for some daytime programs. Optional donation is available to offset the cost of child care for those mothers who could be blessed by your support. Insights homework is available for pickup on the first day.

Insights resources, including study guides and teaching videos, are available at insightsbiblestudy.org.

ENCOUNTER

Encounter is a study which focuses on particular topics by identifying real needs or asking a question and exploring what the Bible says about it.

If a workbook is required, costs will vary by campus and study; you will be prompted during registration to purchase your workbook from Kensington and get it on the first day, or purchase it on your own.

The Chosen Season 3:This study uses the popular, groundbreaking series which explores the life of Jesus. The Chosen powerfully portrays the person of Jesus through the eyes of those around Him. We identify with the characters in this series as they exhibit recklessness, rough pasts, false religious piety, desperation for life-change, and ultimately, redemption. No matter where you’re at in your journey with Christ — whether you’re just encountering Him for the first time or have been a lifelong follower—Jesus shows us over and over that we have so much to learn by walking close to Him. There is meaning and purpose in a life that is in step with Him and you are chosen.

Free of Me by Sharon Hodde Miller: We live in a culture that's all about self, becoming the best "me" I can be instead of becoming like Jesus. This me-centered message affects every area of our lives--our friendships, our marriages, even our faith--and it breaks each one in different ways. The self-focused life robs our joy, shrinks our souls, and is the reason we never quite break free of insecurity. This study invites us into a bigger, Jesus-centered vision--one that restores our freedom and inspires us to live for more.

This semester includes two studies – Luke by Lisa Harper and Breathe by Priscilla Shirer.

Luke: The great news woven throughout the Gospel according to Luke is that perfection is not a prerequisite for a deep and personal relationship with Jesus. Join Lisa Harper in this 8-session Bible study of a literary masterpiece that doesn't celebrate the elite, but embraces the outliers, outcasts, and overlooked!

Breathe: By neglecting time for tranquility, serenity, and repose, we limit our Christlikeness and miss out on some of God's greatest gifts. In the Old Testament, Sabbath was given to the Israelites as a gift, and it is still a gift to us today. If you are weary, worn out, and exhausted, then this 5-session study about Sabbath will change your life.

Mondays | Free of Me by Sharon Hodde Miller: We live in a culture that's all about self, becoming the best "me" I can be instead of becoming like Jesus.

Thursdays | Good Boundaries and Goodbyes by Lysa TerKeurst: Relationships are wonderful . . . until they're not. Stop the dysfunction of unhealthy relationships and learn biblical ways to set boundaries--and, when necessary, say goodbye. You'll be relieved to learn that boundaries aren't just a good idea, they're a God idea.

Traverse City Campus
The Book of Galatians: The Book of Galatians was written by the apostle Paul. As with many of Paul’s letters, he was writing to a specific church to address a current issue. In the Galatian church people were confusing the young believers and trying to convince them of a gospel that was not really the gospel. The book of Galatians teaches believers about the gospel of grace and equips them to actively combat distortions of God’s truth.

Troy Campus
This semester includes two studies: When You Pray by Kelly Minter and others, and Don’t Look Back by Christine Caine.

When You Pray with Kelly Minter, Jackie Hill Perry, Jen Wilkin, Jennifer Rothschild, Jada Edwards, and Kristi McLelland: In this 7-session study, join six Bible teachers who will help you study prayers in the Bible that can inspire your own. You’ll learn that God welcomes your praise and lament, your thanksgiving and intercession. You’ll see examples of how to pray when you’re alone and when you’re gathered with others. Above all, you’ll notice there’s no one right way to pray. As you draw near to God through prayer, you’ll find your faith strengthened and your heart united to Christ.

Don’t Look Back: This 5-session bible study explores the places it’s easy to become stuck in life and the tools we need to start moving forward again into the plans, purposes, and promises of God.

The Well

The Well is a gathering place for women; a connection point where we live out our daily lives and responsibilities but have an encounter with Christ! Through sharing stories, biblical truths and providing intentional connection time, we create a safe (and fun!) place for women to gather and courageously reclaim their identity in Christ. We will also focus heavily on supporting those around us, reminding each other that God intended us to live in community (because we’re better together than we are alone - Romans 12:4-5). Meets on select Mondays from 7pm-8:30pm at Bridgewood Church (6567 Rattalee Lake Rd., Clarkston).
