Having been on medical mission trips through Kensington for 8 years, I have seen firsthand the needs of the Pokot, especially their need for clean water. As a physician, and the team leader for these trips, I am always impressed with the difference in the health of villagers, particularly children, of those with a water source as opposed to those without a well. The children look brighter, more alert, and more able to devote time to school instead of spending countless hours each day waking to an often contaminated water source. To say that water is life is no exaggeration or tired cliche. I can assure you that the money raised by Hope Water Project does very literally save lives.
