Baby Dedication Ceremony - Traverse City

Kensington Traverse City offers a periodic Baby Dedication Ceremony for parents to publicly make a commitment before their friends and family to raise their children in a home where God is at the center. This is often your family’s first spiritual milestone with the church and our goal is to help you make it meaningful and memorable.

Our next Baby Dedication Ceremony will be Sunday, November 22 during the 11AM worship service.

When you sign-up for a Kensington Baby Dedication Ceremony, you are also asked to attend a Parent Class. In this class, we help you understand what baby dedication is and give you everything you need to prepare for this special day.

Once you register for our Baby Dedication Ceremony on November 22. Our KKids Director, Desiree Brown, will contact you to set up a Parent Class/meeting via Zoom.

What to Expect
  • Our in-person services/events will be a physically-distanced gathering. Individuals will be asked to abide by social distancing recommendations.
  • A reservation system has been created to ensure safety and social distancing. Entry will require a confirmation email for each individual in your party. Once your spot(s) is reserved, your name(s) will be added to our guest list for a quick, no-scanning entry process – just state your name at check-in.
  • All in attendance will be asked to wear a mask or face covering anytime inside buildings or homes. If you are unable to physically-distance outside we ask that you wear a mask or face covering.
  • If you have you experienced any of the following COVID-19 symptoms in the past 48 hours: • fever or chills • NEW cough • shortness of breath or difficulty breathing • fatigue • muscle or body aches • headache • new loss of taste or smell • NEW sore throat • congestion or runny nose • nausea or vomiting • diarrhea or have been around someone exposed or potentially exposed, please stay home for the safety of others.

  • The Kensington Executive Leadership Team gathers data from a multitude of sources and continues to monitor trends and listen to updates from our government leaders. Our decision making, though sometimes affected by governmental laws, has not been driven by regulations. Rather it is done in peace not in fear, through intentional prayer, by listening to the Spirit and taking the proper detailed precautions to ensure the safety of all involved especially our people who are immunocompromised, our precious children and our valuable older contingency. We love this community and value each and every one of you. Thank you for supporting us in this decision and following our protocols which call for everyone in our buildings to wear mask.
