MCREST stands for Macomb County Rotating Emergency Shelter Team. Over 90 churches throughout Macomb County participate by volunteering to house the homeless for one week. For the ninth year, our campus has the privilege of hosting MCREST starting on Sunday, Oct. 28 through Sunday, Nov. 4. We will be using the Kensington Clinton Twp. Campus building this year (yay!). The MCREST program is a great way for us to serve those who've fallen on challenging times and put our faith into action. Many volunteers are necessary! There are many different opportunities for everyone to experience the blessings of serving others.

We need volunteers to staff the shelter from 6pm to 8am and provide our guests with dinner, breakfast, and a sack lunch each day along with limited transportation for up to 30 people. We hope to share the love of Christ as we interact and serve the guests throughout the week. To see the specific details and register, use the search feature below!

Here are the areas where help will be needed:
Check-In: Help guests check-in each evening. Serve from 5:30-8:00pm.
Cleaning: Clean after guests leave each morning. Serve from 8:00-10:00am. (Behind the Scenes Shift Area below)
Food Services: Provide and serve breakfast or dinner. This is usually a team coordinator role and perfect for a small group to do together.
General Services: Help guests throughout the night and morning. 3 shifts are available.
Security: Assist guests with checking-in their belongings and accompanying them during smoking breaks. Serve from 5:30-9:00pm.
Set Up & Take Down: Help prepare our building for MCREST before the week starts and then transition back again the following Sunday. Serve on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 28 and/or on Sun., Nov. 4. (Behind the Scenes Shift Area below)
Transportation: Use your vehicle to drive guests back and forth to local bus stop or school/work. Drivers must be 25. Early morning and evening shifts.
