Our MCREST host week is Oct. 22-29. This is our 15th year partnering with MCREST (Macomb County Rotating Emergency Shelter Team) to care for the homeless in our community. This year, we are providing meals for 30 men and 54 women and children. The men are housed at a nearby hotel, and the women and children are housed at the MCREST shelter in Mt. Clemens. Guests are not staying at our building this year. Feeding 84 people several meals a day is a huge undertaking and requires many volunteers and donations. Put your faith into action and serve with others from our campus while you extend Jesus’ love to those who are experiencing challenges.
SERVING TEAMS
MEN’S DINNER TEAM LEADER – Clinton Twp. Campus: One team leader for each day
This volunteer will lead and organize your own team to provide a complete dinner (including dessert) for 30 men. You and the team you form will purchase the food, prepare it at home, and deliver it to Kensington Clinton Twp. on your assigned day, before 3:30pm. A separate team will package the complete meal in individual-serving Styrofoam trays. Guests will reheat their meals on their own. Paper products and drinks will be provided. Please note: men will not be able to share large-serving condiments (like ketchup or salad dressing).

WOMEN’S DINNER TEAM LEADER – Mt. Clemens MCREST: One team leader for each day, serving from 5:30pm to 8:00pm
This volunteer will lead and organize your own team to provide a complete dinner (including dessert) for 50 people (women and children). You and the team you form will purchase the food, prepare it at home, and deliver it to Mt. Clemens MCREST on your assigned day, serve our guests and clean up the kitchen and dining area after dinner. Your team might be your friends, family, or small group. Dinner is served at 6:15 each night. You can use the MCREST kitchen to assemble the meal if you choose. Paper products and drinks will be provided by Kensington.

BAG LUNCH TEAM – Clinton Twp. Campus: Eight volunteers needed each day, serving from 2pm-4pm.
Eight people are needed each afternoon to prepare sandwiches and pack bag lunches with provided food items. This team will assemble lunches for men, women, and children, and portion the men’s dinner to add to their lunch bags. Serve at Kensington Clinton Twp. from 2pm-4pm.

DONATION ORGANIZATION TEAM – Clinton Twp. Campus: Two volunteers are needed to help on several dates: Sunday, Oct. 8; Sunday, Oct. 15; Sunday, Oct. 22; Wednesday, Oct. 25
Two volunteers are needed to accept, transport, and inventory perishable and non-perishable donations at Kensington Clinton Twp, working with the Team Leader. You should be available to serve on all of the following dates: Sundays - Oct. 8, 15, 22, after both services; and on Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 4-6:30pm. The Team Leader will work with you so these shifts are covered (i.e., there is some flexibility in times). You may be asked to purchase missing items with petty cash.
