My dear friend, Erin Brissette, is the director of the Hope Water Project, a ministry through Kensington Church in Birmingham, Michigan, committed to providing clean water to communities around the world. The Hope Water Project partners with communities and drills deep water wells in some of the world’s neediest areas. Their current project is to provide 1,000 new water wells for the Pokot tribe in northwestern Kenya. They have already drilled over 100 wells and plan to have 10 more drilled this summer. My family and I share Erin’s and the Hope Water Project’s mission to transform lives; physically, mentally, and spiritually. We are planning a virtual movie-a-thon to raise money for the Hope Water Project’s current mission. If we could get 50 people at $10 a head, or 25 people at $20 a head, to join us for a virtual movie-a-thon, we will reach my personal goal for this project. We will be hosting ONE BIG NIGHT to watch THE PRINCESS BRIDE!! Friends in Houston who wish to join us at home for the movie, may come over to watch on our projector screen outside and enjoy treats for sale at our home-snack bar (all proceeds go to the Hope Water Project). Friends outside of Houston, or choosing to watch from home, may donate and join us virtually through TeleParty (f.k.a. Netflix Party) where we will synchronize video playback and allow for group chat during the movie. Hope Water Project exists to reveal Jesus through access to clean water. Clean water saves time and restores health. The hours spent each day looking for water instead becomes time to work, care for children or go to school.
