My name is Mya and I just turned 10 years old. I am a team gymnast at Hunts Gymnastics and love training and conditioning. Sometimes it is nice to shake it up and do something different. For the last four years I have trained for and ran a 5k in the spring with my Uncle Kris. Last year we did the Hope Water 5k and I raised almost $600 for wells in Africa. Even better the people who are making the wells are teaching about Jesus! This year my Girl Scout Troop is learning about water. We went to the water treatment plant, learned about carrying water by doing a carry a gallon challenge and took a 90 second shower. We learned about how recycling saves water and went to the recycling center. We are working as a team to earn the Agent of Change journey. A bunch of us are raising money and doing the 5K and then we can see how big our impact is as a team! I am really excited for my friends to do it this year too! Last year I ran 20 miles, 17 to train and 3 at the 5K, for pledge of $20. I am going to do the same this year but if you want to donate more than $20 that would be amazing! $2 a mile is $40, $3 a mile is $60 and $1 a mile for $20 is helpful!
