FAQ's

Why should my kid go?
This is a night they will talk about for years! No other place can they rent out an epic water park with hundreds of middle schoolers and invite all of their friends into the fun!

What does transportation look like?
After you drop your kid off, we will be using charter buses to go from metro-Detroit down to Kalahari and back.

Will my kid eat?
Yes! We will be having a fantastic breakfast buffet at Kalahari. Your student may also purchase snacks if they please, or bring snacks of their own choosing.

What should my kid bring?
All of the energy, bathing suit, towel, optional pillow for the bus ride if you like to sleep and blankie to stay warm and cozy. Don't bring cash, Kalahari is cash-less. If they want to buy snacks there they can use a card or apple pay - but they won't need it. Also don't bring any valuables that aren't necessary like nice jewelry or computers/ipads.

Can my kid sleep?
Yes they are more than welcome to sleep at any time during the night. The bus ride home is a very popular sleep time. We've yet to see many sleepers while at Kalahari, though it is possible.

Where will my kid put their stuff at Kalahari?
They can leave their stuff around the cabana areas designated to the campuses and leaders. They may purchase a locker if they would like.

What does adult supervision look like?
We keep a 7:1 student:volunteer ratio so we have good supervision over the students. While at Kalahari, they provide plenty of staff to make sure students are safe and taken care of at the water park.
