*TRIP IS FULL* This team will travel to three Children's Homes in the remote Pokot area of northwest Kenya. The team is tasked with updating the information and photographs of children in the nochild.org Sponsorship Program, and enrolling new children that have arrived within the previous year. The team will also have the opportunity to encourage both the children and the Kenyan staff who care for the children year-round, while learning about the Pokot culture. The cost of this trip is approximately $4,500 and includes a $450 non-refundable application fee (the final cost will be determined by team size).
Attendance is required at 5 monthly team meetings to be adequately prepared to work as a unit in a cross-cultural setting. (Dates can be obtained from the team leader.) There are also two team meetings after the trip returns home.
Located in northwestern Kenya, Pokot Outreach Ministry seeks to address the spiritual and physical needs of the Pokot people. Julius and Rachel Murgor work with the Pokot people of northwest Kenya. This ministry has been reaching more and more of this people group each year for many years. The primary emphasis is to bring the Gospel to each Pokot, through evangelistic services under trees in the bush, establishing churches and training indigenous leaders and pastors.
